Note: Iwate Prefecture was severely impacted by the March 11, 2011 9.0 earthquake, tsunami and nuclear reactor disaster. I often wonder how my student walkers are doing. - Terry

MODERATE to HIGH ENERGY WALK

Walking Field Trip This tour is an adventure for kids so they can experience places they may not have been to before. That is, going to interesting places and discovering new things! This tour may be conducted any day year-round during daylight hours.
Where do we go? See Seattle custom designs each tour based on time available, start and end points points and special interests your group might have. Tour highlights would include some of these: Water Wall, Seattle George, historical UW photos, Chinese timber architecture, Seattle Central Library, Transit Tunnel station, Milepost 31, UPS "birthplace", Klondike Gold Rush National Park, Police Museum, Railroad Square, Union Station, Uwajimaya, Tsue-Chong, Wing, Ye Olde Curiosity Shop and Miners Landing. (to name a few)!
What age kids? Student Walking Tours are geared for kids from middle school/junior high through high school ages. This tours is not recommended for grades below 7th grade unless the group includes older kids assigned to younger "buddies."
Chaperones All Student Walking Tours require adult chaperones. The safety and whereabouts of all kids on the tour is the direct responsibility of the chaperones. At least one chaperone per 10 kids is considered adequate.
When and Where does the tour Start and End?
Meet in Westlake Plaza at 4th Ave. & Pine St. in the seating area outside Starbucks Coffee shop at 10:00 AM unless you have a preference for a different meeting place and time.

If the tour includes a lunch break the kids could stash "brown bags" in their backpacks and we could eat in a city park or we could find a food court.

The tour may end at our meeting place or at a different location. The tour end time would be your preference.

See Maps & More .... for additional advice on parking near and public transportation to Westlake Plaza.
